The Directorate of Accounts and Treasuries, Konkan Division, has today (3 December 2025) issued an official order in this regard. As per the order, instructions have been given to immediately start the process of supplying and selling notary stamps from sub-treasury offices.
Credit for this important decision goes to the guidance of the Association’s State President Hon. Syed Sikandar Ali Saheb, other core committee office-bearers, the tireless efforts of Raigad District President Adv. Nagesh Hirve and other Raigad office-bearers, as well as the valuable cooperation of Vandana Joshi Saheb.
Providing more details, Adv. Samit Chintaman Raut, Spokesperson of the Maharashtra & Goa Notaries Association and President of the Konkan Division, said:
Raigad District President Adv. Nagesh Hirve added:
“At present, notaries from all talukas in a district have to go to the district-level treasury office to obtain notary stamps. Taking cognizance of our representation, notary stamps will now be available at the treasury office of every taluka. However, it will take a little time for the stamps to become available at every taluka level. Discussions are ongoing to ensure that these stamps are easily available at all stamp vendors across Maharashtra, just like 5-rupee or 10-rupee court fee stamps — so that notary stamps can also be obtained from the same stamp vendors.”
This decision will make notary work simpler, faster, and more convenient for the general public.
